Enjoy the traditional local festivities

Horses are the main actors of the local festivities in Minorca. At the traditional “jaleo”, the horse riders show their abilities by making the horses stand up on only two legs while a music band plays traditional music.

The most typical drink in Minorcan local festivities is called “Pomada” (or gin and lemon in Ciudadela). This is a combination of typical Minorcan distilled gin and lemon juice. Among the locals, the usual greeting during the festivities is "Shall we go for a Pomada?";
